HOLLYWOOD, CA– In one of the most shocking situations recently in Hollywood, Kerry Washington, who recently gave birth to Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha with husband and former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, has quit the hit show Scandal amid cheating rumors.

Washington has been the center of several rumors involving her daughter, and if the baby is truly her husbands. Their has been speculation that Nnamdi Asomugha took a paternity test following the birth of their child, fearing that his daughter is a direct result of adultery.

Since 2012, Washington has starred in the ABC drama Scandal, a Shonda Rhimes series in which Washington plays Olivia Pope, a crisis management expert to the President.

“I don’t understand how Kerry could go from this wholesome actress playing this virtuous feminine role, to being engulfed in these unfortunate allegations.” Show creator Shonda Rhimes said during a press conference Thursday evening. “Although this is a terrible situation, I am proud of Kerry for having the courage in stepping down from her role, but we are going to have a tough task finding a replacement who can bring more class and righteousness to this beloved character.”

Tough task indeed.

Kerry Washington’s close friend, who goes by the name R. Polanski, recently confirmed to the media that the star will not be returning to the show. Citing reasons of “moral disappointment, shame, dishonor and disgrace” within herself; attributes of which she stated she previously never came in touch with, in or out of her roles.

In 2013, Washington gained wide public recognition for her role and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television series.

Big shoes to fill.

So one can see why there are all sorts of scrambling within the production team to find a suitable replacement. Talking heads in Hollywood have thrown out names from Nia Long (The Best Man Holiday, Love Jones) to Gabrielle Union (Being Mary Jane, Think Like A Man Too).

Lets just hope for the best.
